Peiso Werft; cover, cost and conditions

Peiso is a name for small sailing boats and pocket cruisers, recorded from the late 1970s to 2013. The range stays between just over six and just over nine metres, a size that works on inland lakes, along the coast and behind a car. The names are easy to read: two digit numbers such as 22, 25 or 30 give roughly the length in feet, the three digit 700 the length in centimetres, while suffixes like S, SH or MS mark versions of one size. Two motorboats with the MB prefix sit alongside.

Our model records list 14 Peiso designs: nine sailing boats, three sailing yachts, one motorboat and one motor yacht. The Peiso 22 comes in three versions (22, 22 S and 22 SH) at 6.5 metres, the Peiso 23 in two (23 and 23 MS) at 6.98 metres. The 700 line takes in the Peiso 700, the 700-24 and the 7.98 metre 700-27. Further up come the 7.4 metre Peiso 25, the 8.3 metre 26, the 8.75 metre 29 and the 9.16 metre Peiso 30. The motorboats are the 6.2 metre MB 620 and the 9 metre MB 900-32. Build years run from 1978 to 2013, and the Peiso 22 S spans that whole period.

Most Peiso boats are decades old and move between lake, coast and trailer. Small cruisers like these are easy to haul out in autumn and store on their own trailer. Check the keel bolts, the rudder fittings and the trailer bearings before each season, and launch at a slipway with enough depth for the keel.
