Signature Boats; cover, cost and conditions
Signature Boats is the Haines family's brand, sold in Australia as Haines Signature. The boats are built by hand in a Queensland factory near Brisbane, and the family story goes back to John Sydney Haines, awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2004. The range is all trailerable fibreglass boats, built by hand. The number in each name is roughly the length in centimetres, so the 640F measures 6.62 metres and the 543SF 5.33 metres; the letters F, SF, RF, BR and C separate the versions of one size, as with the 620, offered as F, RF, BR and BRX.
Our model records list 19 Signature designs, all motorboats, all from 2018. Eight carry F (500F, 525F, 543F, 545F, 580F, 620F, 640F, 680F), four SF (485SF, 543SF, 640SF, 788SF), two RF, two BR, plus the 620BRX, 640C and 725C. Thirteen lines reach the latest build years; six end in 2022. Lengths run from the 4.85 metre 485SF to the 7.94 metre 788SF, with eight models between 6.2 and 6.8 metres.
These are boats that sleep in the driveway and get launched at a ramp before dawn. A good trailer with working brakes and a rinse of the hubs after salt water matter as much as the boat itself. The outboard carries much of the value, so an engine lock earns its keep.

As the 485SF, 500F, 525F by Signature Boats and 10 more series are still in production,
parts are available and repair costs are predictable.
Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
For the 543F, 580F, 580RF by Signature Boats and 3 more series the market value and the
replacement cost often differ widely.
An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
For the 485SF, 500F, 525F by Signature Boats and further series:
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part.
Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
