SouthWind Deck Boats are built in Cairo, Georgia, in the American South. The brand belongs to the Seminole Marine Group, a family business that had spent more than 25 years building saltwater boats under the Sailfish name before SouthWind arrived. By the group's own account, many components and building procedures were carried over from Sailfish so that the deck boats would stand up to salt water as well. A deck boat is an open powerboat with a wide deck carried right forward to the bow and plenty of seating. The Sport Deck series, as the maker describes it, joins the room of a deck boat with the steering and handling of a runabout, so fishing, waterskiing and an afternoon cruise can share one boat and one day.
