Stickl Yachts is a Hungarian yard that builds its boats around electric drive. By its own account it puts particular weight on style and comfort, and the boats show it: low, elegant hulls, generous sunbathing space, wood on deck and a helm that feels closer to a small yacht than to a sports boat. A family trait is the naming, every model starting with a capital E and a hyphen, from E-motion to E-xcellence. The smallest electric boat of the yard, the E-motion 610, is shaped for inland lakes such as Balaton and is described as easy to handle even for beginners. In 2024 Stickl showed at Boot Tulln in Austria for the first time, with four electric day cruisers.

Our model records list six designs, five entered as motorboats and one as a motor yacht. Lengths run from six metres for the Stickl E-motion 600 and the Stickl E-Motion 610 to 8.2 metres for the Stickl E-xcellence 820. The oldest is the E-motion 600, from build year 2012. A year later came the Stickl E-volution 660 E-yacht at 6.6 metres, and in 2015 the E-xcellence 820. The E-Motion 610 is listed from 2018 to 2022, and the Stickl E-Spirit 730, at 7.3 metres, from 2019 to 2023. The newest arrival is the E-njoy 800, entered as a motor yacht of 7.99 metres from 2022. Four of the six designs reach into the most recent build years.

An electric boat asks for a different routine from a petrol one. The batteries are the heart of it: keep them within the charge range the maker recommends, avoid leaving them flat over winter and keep the charging gear dry and ventilated. On a used Stickl, ask for the battery history and a capacity check, because range falls as cells age. The motor itself needs little attention, but connectors and cables in a damp bilge deserve a careful look. These boats are made for quiet days on lakes and rivers, often on waters where combustion engines are restricted, so their hours tend to be gentle.
