Ultra Marine is based in Lubochnia in Poland and builds boats in aluminium, in two broad groups: fishing boats for leisure use and workboats for professionals. The FishHawk line includes, for example, a four metre boat with a modified vee hull, a self-draining deck and a rod locker built into the side. The TRV line consists of workboats, among them a compact landing craft and a boat made for hard, everyday use in coastal waters, harbours and bays. What ties the range together is the material, marine-grade aluminium, and a practical way of building aimed at daily use. The welded metal hull with its crisp, angular lines makes an Ultra Marine boat easy to tell apart from a moulded one.
Our model records hold three designs, all listed from build year 2022 and all reaching into the most recent build years. Two are motorboats: the FishHawk 450 at 4.54 metres and the FishHawk 600 at 5.95 metres. The third, the TRXV 570, is entered as a motor trimaran at 5.73 metres. On a powerboat of this size a trimaran hull usually means a centre hull with two side sponsons, which adds stability when standing and working on board. All three stay under six metres, which puts them firmly in trailer territory. It is a young range: the brand appears in our list only with build years from the 2020s.
Aluminium shrugs off knocks that would crack glassfibre, but it has its own weak points. The main one is galvanic corrosion: stainless fittings, copper-based antifouling or a poorly isolated electrical system can eat into the hull, so anodes, fastenings and the area around the transom need a close look. Check welds for cracks, especially where the hull takes the load from the outboard and from the trailer rollers. On a fishing boat, rod holders, livewells and drain plugs see heavy use. Because these boats spend so much time on trailers, the trailer itself, with its bearings, lights and brakes, deserves the same attention as the boat.
