Worth knowing
Venaboats; cover, cost and conditions
Venaboats is listed in our records as a builder of small motorboats whose models carry the Vena name and a three digit number. The number gives the length in centimetres: the Vena 310 is 3.1 metres, the 450 is 4.5 metres and the 750 is 7.5 metres. Most models are small boats between three and four and a half metres, and two of them also come as Console versions with a steering console. Above them sit the Vena 707 and 750, two much larger boats of seven and seven and a half metres. The range is young, with the oldest build years in our data from 2008.
Our model records list 9 Vena designs, 8 motorboats and one motor yacht, the Vena 750. Build years begin in 2008 with the 310, 330, 370, 420 and 450; the 750 follows in 2012, the 330 Console and 370 Console in 2016 and the 707 in 2018. All nine lines are recorded into the latest build years. Lengths run from 3.1 metres (Vena 310) to 7.5 metres (Vena 750). Seven models stay at 4.5 metres or less, and a gap of 2.5 metres separates the 450 from the 707.
The small Venas up to 4.5 metres are classic trailer boats, launched at a ramp, tied up by the shore and stored on land for the winter. A quick rinse after use, a check of the outboard mounting and a dry place under a roof keep them in good order. The 707 and 750 are more likely to stay on a fixed berth through the season and suit longer days out with family or friends. Whatever the size, a young boat holds its value more easily when the service history is complete.

Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
For the Vena 310, Vena 330, Vena 330 Console by Venaboats and further series:
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part.
Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
For the Vena 750 by Venaboats series:
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value.
Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
