Worth knowing
Marsham Boats; cover, cost and conditions
Where you sail belongs in the contract: inland or coastal is one of the factors that determine the premium. The sailing yacht Essex Smack was built between 1994 and 2000 and can be classified differently depending on the waters. A later change of cruising range is subsequently reflected in the contract.
What is on record is a single model range with around six years of production, after which building ceased. That plays no role in acceptance, because we insure irrespective of build year, place of purchase and previous owners. Small series and self-built boats can likewise be insured.
You receive the international certificate of insurance automatically in ten languages, which is helpful on trips across national borders. Under full hull cover an agreed value is arranged and compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), while third-party liability runs with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros.

Series by Marsham Boats, build years and cover
Essex Smack is a sailing yacht from Marsham Boats, built from 1994 to 2000.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
