Multimare; cover, cost and conditions
Four ranges from the years 1967 to 1978 are recorded for Multimare: Primer, Squalo and the Super Jet from 1967 as well as the Multi 96 from 1970. Production lies entirely in the past, which brings the question of valuation to the fore and makes the agreed value the central point of the contract.
For boats from this period there is no longer a new price. Instead we set an agreed value which is paid out in the event of a claim with no deduction for depreciation (new for old). In the Premium tariff full hull cover applies with no age limit, so that a boat built in 1967 is fully covered as well.
Third-party liability forms the basis, with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros in Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. With the sailing boats and sailing yachts the sail area instead of an engine power enters into the premium, along with type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
What does compensation with no deduction for depreciation (new for old) mean?
For Multimare: In a covered claim no reduction is made for age or wear.
What matters is the firmly agreed value,
in the Premium tariff with no age limit in the full hull cover.
Can a Squalo from 1970 still be taken on?
Yes, for Multimare too: We insure regardless of year of construction,
place of purchase and previous owners.
We also take discontinued ranges and boats without complete shipyard documents into cover.

For the Multi 96, Primer, Squalo by Multimare series:
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts:
a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat,
and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
For the Super Jet by Multimare series:
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides.
A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
