Nawiatr is a small yard in Kraków, Poland. Its boats were designed by Piotr Kopczyński and are built using vacuum bagging and resin infusion. The best known is the N700K, a quick cruising catamaran that travels on a trailer and is meant for both coastal and inland sailing. Each of its seven metre hulls is laid up in epoxy over a Herex foam core. The hulls and other parts come apart, so the boat goes by road and launches wherever its owner wants to sail. There are two single berths in each hull, and an outboard mounted on the centreline helps in harbour. The N700K came in Speed Cruiser, Sport and Sport Carbon versions, and updated versions are now offered by the Salpare yard.

At 6.5 metres the N650 is the smallest, while the N700 and N700K both measure seven metres. The number in the name matches the length in centimetres, and in our list only the catamaran carries the K. The whole range sits within half a metre, right around the seven metre mark.
Boats built to be taken apart need careful reassembly. On the N700K the joints between hulls and beams carry the loads of a fast boat, so fastenings and contact surfaces deserve a close look each time it is put together. Epoxy over a foam core is light and stiff, but a hard knock can crush the core under an intact skin, so tapping the hulls for dull spots is worth doing on a used boat. The trailer matters as much as the boat: bearings, brakes, lights and the supports that hold the hulls. At 20 knots and above, sails and rig work hard and should be checked often, and the outboard bracket on the centreline takes its share of strain too.
