Särki Oy has been building boats in Finland since 1972. The yard sits in Perniö in the south west of the country, now part of the town of Salo. Its range consists of small boats under five metres: rowing boats, outboard boats and console boats, which the builder describes as seven hull models in around twenty versions. They are meant as connection and leisure boats for cottage owners and for fishing. Hulls are hand laid in glassfibre, the yard says its structures are somewhat heavier than usual, and every model has been tested and approved by the Finnish research institute VTT. Särki also takes on contract work, open laminating and RTM parts in other companies' moulds, and has shown an electric rowing boat at the Helsinki boat show.

It is entered with build years 1982 to 1988 and measures 5.15 metres, a little longer than today's range, which stays under five metres. On motorboats the letters HT usually stand for hardtop, a fixed roof over the helm. No Särki entry in our records reaches into the most recent build years. The youngest SF 530 HT therefore dates from 1988, and every boat still around has several decades on the water behind it. Newer Särki models such as the 400, the 411 or the 430TC are not part of our list.
