Stockholm Boats AB is the company behind Lynxmar, a Swedish brand of aluminium boats. The idea came from Anders Hagenbjörk, who went shopping for a new aluminium boat and did not find what he wanted. He wrote down some 250 points that existing boats lacked and worked them into the Lynxmar C26 together with the designer Oscar Södergren. The boats are meant for the Swedish archipelago and for use in every season, the cold months included. Hulls are fully welded from marine-grade aluminium. A Lynxmar is easy to recognise by its square, purposeful lines, the large glass roof on the cabin boats, rubber matting on deck and sturdy grab rails.
Our model records hold two Lynxmar designs, both motorboats and both listed from 2020. The Lynxmar C26 measures 7.98 metres; the C marks the cabin boats of the range. The Lynxmar O20 is the smaller of the two at 6.1 metres, with the O standing for an open layout. Both lines run into the most recent build years, so no second-hand example in our records is older than 2020. The brand's own site now also shows a C22, an O22 and an O19, which are not yet in our data. For the C26 the boating press mentions Mercury outboards of serious power, and a cruising speed of a little over 30 knots was a design target from the start.
Aluminium suits rocky water. A welded hull shrugs off knocks that would crack gelcoat, but it wants attention elsewhere: check the welds around the transom and the engine bracket, look for galvanic corrosion where stainless fittings meet the hull, and renew the anodes in good time. Boats used as year-round commuters run up engine hours quickly, so the service history matters as much as the hull. On a used C26 it pays to test the heater, the bow thruster and the windlass, all of which work hard in winter. Rubber mats and suspension seats wear with daily use and are worth checking for tears.
