Stormer Marine; cover, cost and conditions
Stormer Marine is a Dutch yard in Hoorn on the Markermeer that builds workboats for ports, terminals, rescue services and authorities; between 2022 and 2025 it built three Bolder class harbour tugs for the Royal Netherlands Navy. The boats are made for daily harbour duty: line handling, crew transfer, inspection runs and towing. You recognise them by short, beamy hulls with a full fender collar, a compact wheelhouse with all round view and a clear non slip working deck. The number in the name gives roughly the length in decimetres, so a Harbour 75 is 7.5 metres.
Our model records list 35 Stormer models, 34 motorboats and one rigid inflatable, the RIB 75. Build years start in 2013 and run into current production. Lengths run from 4.6 to 12.7 metres, half of them between 6.1 and 8.1 metres. The range is organised by task: Harbour boats from 4.6 to 9.4 metres, Porter multipurpose boats up to the 12.7 metre Porter 120, Rescue and Lifeboat for rescue work, Patrol, small Tugboat models from 4.8 to 7.2 metres and the Runner 87. Many come with inboard, outboard or waterjet drive, and the Tugboat 55 also as an electric boat.
Because the same hull size comes with very different drives, the exact version of a Stormer says more than its model name. Small tugs and harbour boats also find private owners who want a tough tender or a compact inland boat.
