What is my boat worth?
Buying, selling, or simply checking whether your sum insured still makes sense: four choices give you a realistic price range for a used boat today. The ranges come from our boat records and cover 45,381 models from 3,580 builders.
How the range is built
For every model we hold a midpoint and a spread for each year of build, the band in which used boats of that year usually change hands. The calculator picks the slice that matches the condition you choose.
All figures are today's values in euros, rounded to the nearest hundred. Optional equipment, a replacement engine or a refit move a boat within or beyond the range, which no table can know.
This is not a survey. When buying an expensive boat, after a claim, or when a lender is involved, a qualified marine surveyor is worth the fee.
What lifts the price and what drags it down
- Service records. A folder of invoices and logged engine hours persuades a buyer more than fresh polish.
- Young engine or new sails. The most expensive items on board. If they are new, the boat sits in the top part of the range.
- Osmosis and wet cores. Blistering or a damp sandwich core can push the price below the lower edge.
- Location and season. Boats sell faster in spring than in autumn, and afloat rather than ashore.
- Paperwork. CE documents, bill of sale and proof of ownership must be complete, or the pool of buyers shrinks.
How quickly do motor boats, yachts and sailing boats lose value? The used boat price report breaks it down by type and brand.

Questions about boat values
How accurate is the value from the calculator?
It shows the range in which boats of that model and year usually trade. Where yours sits within it depends on condition, equipment and engine. For a binding figure you need a surveyor.
Which value should go on my boat insurance?
Hull cover is usually written on an agreed value. It should reflect what an equivalent boat costs today. Below that, a total loss leaves a shortfall. Far above it, you pay premium on the higher sum; your policy wording decides what that buys you.
My model is missing. What now?
Very rare boats, one-offs and classics have no reliable price series. A surveyor or a specialist broker is the right route there.
Does the engine count?
The range assumes the usual engine for that year. An outboard much younger than the hull lifts the value, an engine due for overhaul lowers it.
How current are the figures?
They reflect October 2026 and are updated when the market moves noticeably.
