Worth knowing
BirdyFish; cover, cost and conditions
BirdyFish is based in Saint-Herblain near Nantes and builds foiling dinghies. The range is the original BirdyFish at 4.70 metres for two or three sailors, the BirdyFish S at 4.20 metres aimed at single-handers, and the Ioda at 3.20 metres. Hulls are glass-reinforced polyester and the foils carbon epoxy.
On a foiling dinghy the foils are both the most exposed and the most expensive part. When choosing cover, check that the value includes foils and sails, how damage from grounding or collision with debris is handled, and whether use by a sailing school or club fleet needs to be declared.
