Worth knowing
Hansa Nautic Yachtagentur; cover, cost and conditions
Hansa Nautic Yachtagentur lists 14 models of very different kinds: six sailing yachts, five motorboats, two sailing boats and one inflatable. Build years run from 1978 to 2005 and lengths from 2.2 to 15.5 m. At one end stand the Condor yachts 146, 150 C, 154 and Pathfinder 138 at around 14 to 15.5 m, at the other the small HN-SB boats from 2.20 to 3.50 m together with Anny and Jenny.
Records this broad cannot be treated as one: for a boat of just over two metres liability cover is the right basis, while for a 15 m Condor value, cruising area and berth are what count. Every boat was built more than twenty years ago, so an agreed value is preferable to actual cash value. Anyone who owns both a tender and a yacht should keep them clearly separate, so that it is obvious after a loss what is covered.
NAMMERT insures boats from Hansa Nautic regardless of build year and place of purchase, from the inflatable to the cruising yacht. The premium is ready in the online calculator in five minutes.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Can I keep yacht and tender in one contract?
The tender can be included as long as size and engine power stay within limits. With an HN-SB of around three metres that is common.
What should I watch on a 15 m Condor?
Value, cruising area and berth determine the cover. For build years from the 1980s an agreed value is added so that refits are taken into account.

For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
Even without an engine the rule holds: a tear from impact or vandalism is covered, UV ageing is wear.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
