Max Fun is a Dutch name. The company Max Fun Boats first launched the smaller Max Fun 25 in the Netherlands and then followed it with the Max Fun 35, drawn by the Simonis/Voogd office with Maarten Voogd. The idea was not a racer built to a rating rule but a quick, easily handled sportsboat, and she is also sailed as a one design class. Her deep keel under a flat bottom, the large gennaker and a clean, low profile make her easy to recognise. At the Hiswa boat show in 2003 the design was named boat of the year.
