Poliglas PL; cover, cost and conditions
In our records, Poliglas PL stands for one finely graded family of boats: the Conger range. These are small motorboats, from a short tender through open fishing and leisure boats to a sports boat of just over six metres. The size is written in the name. The three digit number gives the length in centimetres, and quite precisely: the Conger 310 is 3.1 metres, the Conger 450 4.5 metres and the Conger 625 6.25 metres. With steps this close, there is a Conger for almost any length between three and six metres.
Our model records list eleven Poliglas designs, all motorboats and all named Conger: the 310, 380, 400, 430, 450, 460, 525, 530, 560, 625 and 660. The Conger 450 is the only one recorded from 2005, the other ten start in 2011, and all eleven end in 2017. Lengths run from 3.1 metres for the Conger 310 to 6.4 metres for the Conger 660. Four models are under 4.5 metres, four sit between 4.5 and 5.3 metres and three between 5.6 and 6.4 metres. Some neighbours differ by only ten to thirteen centimetres, such as the 450 and 460 or the 525 and 530.
Every Conger travels easily on a trailer, which makes it a boat for lakes, rivers and calm coastal days rather than a fixed marina berth. Keep the outboard flushed, the bilge dry and the trailer bearings greased, and store the boat upside down or under a tarpaulin over the winter so rain cannot collect inside.
