Worth knowing
RS Sailing; cover, cost and conditions
RS Sailing builds dinghies in England for the entire field from the children's boat to the racing machine, RS Feva as a youth boat, RS Aero as a light single-handed dinghy, RS Quest as a training boat, RS 21 as a keelboat. This breadth makes the brand widespread in clubs and sailing schools, and school and club use is the point that makes the policy different.
If a boat is sailed by changing users, sailing school, club fleet, youth work, that is not private use. Register it; if it is not registered, cover is missing precisely when an inexperienced user causes the damage, and in school use that is the normal case. We insure club and school fleets, but we need details of the number of boats and the type of use.
For private owners the important point with the racing classes, RS Aero and RS 21, is the inclusion of racing. With the RS Aero there is the additional fact that the hull is extremely light: under thirty kilograms, which makes the boat easy to handle but also sensitive during transport and when coming alongside. Expect more frequent minor damage and choose the deductible accordingly.
