Outside lies the Atlantic with a long swell, and fog is frequent off Cape Finisterre, together with dense commercial traffic on the approach routes. Inside the rías the mussel rafts are the issue: they are marked with buoys and floats, but hard to see at night.

The season runs from May to September with berths in the middle price band. Boats usually stay afloat in winter; frost is no issue, storms are. If you arrive at night, run the approach in daylight before you use it in the dark.

Are collisions with unlit aquaculture rafts covered?
On your own boat from Basis-Plus: collision with fixed and floating objects is named there expressly, and a mussel raft is exactly that. What you damage on the installation is paid by the liability cover, in every tariff. Under the Basis tariff, a partial hull cover, the damage to your own boat is not covered.
Does AIS or a collision warning system lower my deductible?
No, our conditions contain no such discount. What does move the deductible is fixed: it falls away for total loss, theft, inspection costs after a grounding, dinghies, trailers and personal effects, and after five claim-free years it halves for the first claim. AIS helps you avoid the claim altogether, which is worth more.
Fog off Finisterre and dense commercial traffic: what liability sum?
The highest available. A collision with a commercial vessel is in a different order of magnitude from the leisure world. The sum is stated in your schedule: 10 million euros in Basis, 25 million in Basis-Plus and 50 million in Premium.
