Malta
The harbours of Valletta and Msida are well sheltered; the outer coast is steep with few anchorages. In winter, depressions bring hard north easterlies and surge reaches into the marinas. The typical losses are chafe damage at the berth and damage while manoeuvring in tight basins.

Malta works year round, with berths in the upper price band that are in demand in winter, because many boats stay here. Yards and suppliers are on hand, which makes repairs easier than at many other Mediterranean locations.
