Non-tidal Thames
Between Lechlade and Teddington there are around forty attended locks. The river looks harmless but carries noticeable current after rain, and below Teddington the tidal reach begins with entirely different conditions. Damage typically occurs while mooring on towpaths, in the locks and in floods, when boats hang on lines that are too short.

Berths, season and winter storage
The season runs from April to October with berths in the middle price band. Frost is rare but ashore storage is common, because winter floods arrive reliably. Staying afloat means lines that will take two metres of level change.
What this means for your policy
The stretch belongs to the cruising range for the British Isles and Ireland. As soon as you go below Teddington into the tidal reach and on towards the estuary, the water changes completely. Check whether that section and the Thames Estuary are covered by your policy.
