The busy time is May to September and berths are expensive. Ashore storage is limited and costly. Boats returning to Europe via Bermuda normally plan the stop for May or June, that is, before the hurricane season.
What this means for your policy
Bermuda has its own cruising range. The decisive question is the hurricane exclusion: many policies do not cover a stay in the hurricane zone during the season, or only in part. Settle that expressly before you plan the route.

Is there a hurricane exclusion?
Not in our conditions. The words hurricane and cyclone appear in none of the policy wordings; there is no clause that takes out a stay in the hurricane zone during the season. Cover follows the course of events: storm from force 8 as a named peril, plus stranding, capsize, collision and sinking as accident events from Basis-Plus.
The entrance is only through Town Cut: what applies after reef contact?
Running aground is covered from Basis-Plus, not under the Basis tariff as a partial hull cover. Report the contact even without visible damage and the inspection costs are covered with no deductible, up to 500 euros in Basis-Plus and without a cap in Premium. On reef the damage often reaches further than it looks.
Does Bermuda need its own cruising-range entry?
Yes, Bermuda is a range of its own. Anyone carrying on across the Atlantic needs a blue water or worldwide range; with the worldwide range the logbook duty from 300 nautical miles of position change applies.
