The season runs from April to October, berths are in the upper price band and scarce in August. Boats stay afloat in winter, with shore power in the larger harbours. If you anchor a lot, invest in chain and ground tackle rather than in the next piece of electronics.

Is damage while anchoring or making fast ashore covered?
From Basis-Plus it is: if the anchor breaks out and the boat drifts, strands or collides, those are accident events named there expressly. The Basis tariff is a partial hull cover and does not include them. In bays such as Girolata or Roccapina, where a westerly shift leaves no way out, that is the decisive line.
How does the deductible work out over many small claims?
It is deducted per claim, not per season. In an anchoring area with many small events a low deductible therefore often works out better. Two reliefs exist: it does not apply to total loss and theft, and after five claim-free years it halves for the first claim.
And if the damage happens at night at anchor?
Hull cover has no time window and no night clause; when the loss occurs changes nothing about the cover. What counts is the course of events and due care: where gross negligence is argued we waive any reduction up to 25 per cent of the sum insured in Basis-Plus and up to 50 per cent in Premium.
