Cyclades
From July to September the meltemi blows from the north, often for days at six to eight on the Beaufort scale. It accelerates between the islands, and the short Aegean sea is unpleasantly steep. The harbours are small and mostly open to the south. Most damage happens in harbour, not at sea: boats work against the quay, lines chafe through, anchors will not hold in a crowded basin.

Berths, season and winter storage
The season is May to September with berths in the low to middle price band. In winter most boats go to Lavrion or the Peloponnese; there is hardly any winter storage on the islands themselves. In the meltemi, plan your legs for the morning, not the afternoon.
What this means for your policy
The area falls under the cruising range for Greece and the Aegean. Check whether storm damage at the berth is covered even when the boat is unattended, and whether your policy provides for a paid securing measure when you are away.
