Norwegian Fjords
In the fjords the water is often a hundred metres deep right up to the shore, so anchoring is possible only in a few places. The real issue is wind: gusts fall from the mountain flanks many times stronger than the wind in the fjord. Boats are driven out of the bay or torn off the pontoon.

Berths, season and winter storage
The reliable season is June to August with berths in the middle price band. The coast is ice free in winter but stormy; ashore storage still predominates. If you tie up in a guest harbour, assume it will come down hard at night and lay the lines accordingly.
