Saône and Rhône
The Saône is calm and wide; the Rhône below it is a different water: strong current, large lock chambers with several metres of lift, and commercial traffic that will not make room. Damage happens mainly in the chambers when the boat is pushed around during filling, and in high water, when debris comes down and berths are flooded.

Berths, season and winter storage
From April to October the route is comfortable, with berths in the middle price band. Ashore storage is usual in winter, in the lower reaches also because of flooding. If you leave the boat afloat, watch the gauge and rig the lines for rising water.
What this means for your policy
The route belongs to the cruising range for the Belgian and French canals. Locking out into the Mediterranean at Port Saint Louis leaves that range and needs its own entry. Clarify beforehand whether lock damage is paid without deduction and how your policy treats flooding.
