Venetian Lagoon
Outside the buoyed channels the lagoon is rarely deeper than a metre, and the channels shift. Add traffic at a density you will not meet on any other inland water: vaporetti, water taxis, cargo boats. The typical loss is either a grounding beside the line of buoys or a collision caused by wash in a narrow canal.

Berths, season and winter storage
From April to October it is busy, with berths in the upper price band. Ashore storage is available and boats also stay afloat, because hard frost is rare. Expect acqua alta in autumn: pontoons go under water, and lines made off too short pull cleats out of the deck.
What this means for your policy
The lagoon belongs to the cruising range for Italy, Sardinia and Sicily. Going out into the northern Adriatic stays within that range, but the bora offshore makes very different weather from the lagoon. Check whether inspection costs after a grounding are paid even when no visible damage remains.
