Cruising area · North Sea and Baltic
Bornholm
The island lies about eighty miles from the nearest coast, in the open Baltic. Getting there means a long leg with no bolt hole, and the north coast is rocky. The harbours of Rønne, Nexø and Gudhjem are tight; with onshore wind there is surge in the basins, and that is where most damage happens, as boats work against the quay wall.

Berths, season and winter storage
The reliable season is short, June to August, with berths in the middle price band. Boats winter ashore with frost protection. A visitor held up for several days by strong wind should fit snubbers to the lines and check the chafe points daily.
What this means for your policy
Bornholm belongs to the Baltic cruising range. More important than the entry itself is how far your policy lets you go offshore: some limit the distance from the coast or from a safe harbour. Check that before you plan the crossing.
