Cruising area · Black Sea
Bosphorus
Over thirty kilometres between the Sea of Marmara and the Black Sea a surface current of up to four knots runs south, with a counter current beneath it. Add traffic at a density that forgives no mistakes: shipping, ferries crossing the fairway, fishermen. Pleasure craft must keep clear of the traffic separation schemes and may only pass certain sections at set times.

Berths, season and winter storage
The passage is mostly made from April to October, with berths in Istanbul in the middle price band. The transit itself is a day leg, not a place to linger. If you plan it, check the current reporting requirements, because they change.
What this means for your policy
The Bosphorus belongs to the Turkey cruising range; going on into the Black Sea needs an additional entry, because that area is not included in many policies. Also check your liability sum: a collision with a commercial vessel is a different order of magnitude from pleasure craft.
