Boat insurance for Gulf of Gdańsk
The Hel Peninsula lies across the gulf like a breakwater and takes much of the height out of the sea. Behind it the water is shallow: the inner Bay of Puck averages about three metres, while the outer gulf runs past fifty. A sandbar nearly ten kilometres long, the Rybitwia Mielizna, runs from Rewa to Kuźnica and dries in places; the only way through is the cut at Głębinka. Off Gdańsk the track crosses the fairway of a deepwater container port.

Berths, season and winter storage
The season runs from May to September and berths sit in the middle band. There are places at Marina Gdynia and at the newer Yacht Park in the city centre, at Marina Gdańsk in the old town behind an opening bridge, at Sopot, and inside the bay at Puck, Jastarnia and Hel. Storage is ashore: the inner bay ices over in cold winters, and the official ice reports list it every year.
What this means for your policy
The area sits in the Polish cruising range, a long way east of the usual North Sea and Baltic limits, so the agreed range is worth checking before the delivery passage rather than after it. Two questions for the contract: what is agreed for grounding in a buoyed but shallow channel, and what applies while the boat stands ashore unattended for months?
