Boat insurance for Bodrum and the Gulf of Gökova
The gulf cuts far inland, and the meltemi out of the north-west bends into its axis: the afternoon brings a westerly or north-westerly down the funnel, the mornings stay quiet, and the wind eases the further east you go. In the bays you lie with a line ashore, because sand and weed do not hold everywhere, and hard gusts drop over the ridge at Çökertme. From the evening the coves fill up, with charter boats and gulets coming out of Bodrum.

Berths, season and winter storage
The season runs from April to October and berths sit in the upper price band. The peninsula has large marinas at Bodrum, Turgutreis and Yalıkavak, while the bays offer little more than restaurant pontoons. Boats on this coast usually spend the winter ashore, and the yards for that are mostly at Marmaris. If the boat is left on its own, have the shore lines and the chafe points looked at before autumn.
What this means for your policy
The gulf belongs to the Turkish cruising range; a range that stops at the Greek border is not enough. Türkiye is outside the EU, so clearance in and out happens at a frontier port, Bodrum and Marmaris among them, and the transit log stays on board. Two questions for the policy: does the agreed range name Türkiye, and is the permanent berth written in, including the months the boat stands ashore?
