Engine power is one of the factors from which the premium is derived, alongside type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range. The brand name does not count. If the propulsion has been replaced over the years, the actual output should be stated in the contract.
For boats of these years the full hull cover remains open: agreed value, indemnity with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff with no age limit. Collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard are covered, with no time window and no night clause.

What must be considered after an engine replacement?
State the actual engine power. It is a premium factor alongside type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range, and the contract should reflect the real condition.
Does a yacht from 2001 still get full hull cover?
Yes. In the Premium tariff the full hull cover applies with no age limit, with an agreed value and with no deduction for depreciation (new for old). Collision and grounding are included in this.

On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
