Worth knowing
Atlanta; cover, cost and conditions
Ten model ranges are recorded under the name Atlanta. Eight of them are known by name: the sailing boats Koralle, Flamingo 200, Catch 22, Kolibri, Mungo, Atlanta Vario S and Atlanta 550, as well as the motor boat Kora. Their production periods fall between 1967 and 1985. For the two remaining ranges we have no details, but they can be insured nonetheless.
No overall type of boat is recorded for Atlanta; the individual ranges are listed partly as sailing boats and partly as motor boats. What counts for the policy is the specific boat in any case: limited hull cover includes fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage, while full hull cover adds collision, grounding and vandalism.
Third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros forms the basis, in the Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium levels. Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards, which is relevant for sailing boats such as the Catch 22 or the Koralle. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, and a trailer is included at no extra premium.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Can the Atlanta ranges for which no data is available also be insured?
Yes. Of the ten recorded model ranges, eight are known by name and the other two are not. What counts for the policy is the data of your boat, not the completeness of our shipyard list.
What does full hull cover include for a Kora with an outboard?
Theft of parts including the outboard is part of full hull cover, along with collision, grounding and vandalism. Theft of the entire boat is already included in limited hull cover.
The cover that fits
For the whole class of boat
What matters for your boat depends less on the brand than on engine output, how a claim is settled and the waters you sail.

For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
