Cruisers; cover, cost and conditions
The model ranges under the name Cruisers extend from the motorboat to the motor yacht and some of them have been running since 2013 to the present day; 60 ranges are recorded. On powered boats the engine output is one of the factors that determine the premium, alongside type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range. The brand is not taken into account.
Models of the Cantius and GLS ranges have been in the programme continuously since the 2010s. For boats still in production this means current years of construction and correspondingly current values in the contract. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros you take out the policy online; above that we examine each case individually and agree the cover accordingly.
Full hull cover works with an agreed value and pays with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), including collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts with the outboard. A boat trailer is included at no extra premium, and you receive the international certificate of insurance automatically in ten languages.

Frequent questions
How does the engine affect the premium?
The engine output is one of several factors, together with type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range. The brand is not taken into account; a Cruisers is rated like any comparable boat.
Can a yacht worth more than 2.5 million euros be insured?
Yes, but not by taking out a policy online. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros it works directly; above that we carry out an individual assessment and tailor the cover to the boat.

Licence
A powerboat licence (inland or coastal) is required from 15 hp (11.03 kW).
Registration
Registration from 3 hp; for trips abroad carry the boat certificate or flag document.

Lifesaving gear, fire extinguisher, anchor, signalling equipment and correct navigation lights.

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
