Delphin; cover, cost and conditions
With 42 recorded ranges, the programme under the name Delphin is broadly based. The models listed, such as D-230, D-250, D-265, D-290, D-330, DA-200, DA-230 and DAS-350, are inflatable boats without an engine, built between 1996 and 2013. No country of origin is on file. Cover is based on the data of the individual boat.
Many owners already have a policy and do not want to cancel it themselves. NAMMERT cancels the previous policy free of charge, so the switch runs through us. After that, the tariff levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium apply, with third-party liability from 10 to 50 million euros limit of indemnity as the basis.
Because production of these ranges ended in 2013 at the latest, used boats are on the market today. Year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners play no part in insurability. The boat trailer is included at no extra premium, and cover applies during craning, during launching, on the transport route and in winter storage.

Frequent questions
Do I have to cancel my old policy myself?
No. In the switching service, NAMMERT cancels the previous policy free of charge for you. You choose the tariff level Basis, Basis-Plus or Premium, and we handle the rest of the changeover.
Can ranges whose production ended in 2013 still be insured?
Yes. We provide cover regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, including ranges whose production ran out in 2012 or 2013. Small series and self-built boats can also be insured.

Licence
A powerboat licence (inland or coastal) is required from 15 hp (11.03 kW).
Registration

For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
Even without an engine the rule holds: a tear from impact or vandalism is covered, UV ageing is wear.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
