Worth knowing
Dolphin; cover, cost and conditions
Nine model ranges are recorded under the name Dolphin, among them Renegade Pro, Super Skiff Pro, Backcountry Pro and Bay Boat. Most of them have been built since 2007 or 2012 and are still in production today, while the Backbone and the L Series ended in 2021. The same structure applies to all of them: third-party liability as the basis, with limited hull cover or full hull cover on top.
Not every dispute ends with damage to the boat. Anyone who buys second hand and then discovers defects, or who cannot reach agreement with a boatyard, faces a legal question. That is why NAMMERT also offers legal expenses cover for water sports, which covers exactly such disputes.
The full hull cover works with an agreed value and pays compensation with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff with no age limit. Collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard are included. The trailer is covered free of charge within the boat insurance.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Does legal expenses cover help after the purchase of a used boat?
Legal expenses cover for water sports is offered alongside and applies in a dispute after the purchase of a used boat or with a boatyard. It supplements third-party liability and hull insurance.
Are older and current Dolphin models equally insurable?
Yes, we insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. Even models whose production ended in 2021 can be covered at an agreed value.
The cover that fits
For the whole class of boat
What matters for your boat depends less on the brand than on engine output, how a claim is settled and the waters you sail.

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
