Worth knowing
Gentle; cover, cost and conditions
No model ranges are recorded for Gentle, and no information is available on country, size or segment either. What can be said regardless of this: third-party liability forms the basis of every boat insurance policy, with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros depending on the tariff level chosen.
Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium differ in level and scope. From Basis-Plus onwards club races are included, and in the Premium tariff the agreed value of full hull cover applies with no age limit. Which level fits depends on the boat and the cruising range, not on the name of the manufacturer.
With no known type of boat, the details given when taking out the policy decide the premium: type of boat, value, year of construction, engine output or sail area and cruising range. Small production runs and home-built boats can be insured, and up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the policy can be taken out online.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
How high is the limit of indemnity in boat third-party liability?
Between 10 and 50 million euros, depending on the tariff level chosen. Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium build on one another, and third-party liability is included in all three.
Can a boat with no known model range be insured?
Yes. What matters is the information about the boat itself, not an entry for the yard. Small production runs and home-built boats are also part of what can be insured.
The cover that fits
For the whole class of boat
What matters for your boat depends less on the brand than on engine output, how a claim is settled and the waters you sail.
