Geuzenboats; cover, cost and conditions

Seven sailing boat model ranges are recorded under Geuzenboats, from the Tirion One Design from 1995 onwards through the Geuzenvalk, Tirion 28 and VQ 24 to the Centaur, Falcon 22 and Motion 670, whose building ended in 2018. Wherever sailing boats are sailed in clubs, the question of racing arises: at NAMMERT club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards.

Races with official scoring status are declared when you take out the policy, so that participation is properly recorded. For the premium, the sail area takes the place of engine output, joined by type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range. Third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros forms the basis.

Boats of this kind spend part of the year ashore and travel to the next race on the trailer. Winter storage, craning, launching and the transport route are included, and the boat trailer runs with the policy at no extra premium. In full hull cover an agreed value applies with no deduction for depreciation.

From which tariff level are club races covered?

From Basis-Plus. Races with official scoring status are declared when you take out the policy. That way it is settled which use of the boat the policy carries before the season begins.

How does the sail area affect the premium?

On sailing boats the sail area replaces engine output as the calculation factor. Type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range are added to it. The name of the yard plays no part.
