Worth knowing
Norwegen; cover, cost and conditions
For this entry we have no model ranges on file. Neither the type of boat nor the production period is recorded, so we say nothing about it. That is no obstacle for the insurance, because we start from the details of your boat and not from a register of yards.
Small series and home-built boats can be insured too. Where there is no series allocation, we agree an agreed value which is stated in the policy and paid out in the event of a claim with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old"). We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners.
The premium is determined by the type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power or sail area and cruising range, never by the brand. Third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros forms the basis, and limited hull cover and full hull cover can be added. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros you take out the policy online.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Does the yard have to appear in a list for you to insure?
No. We insure on the basis of the boat's details, even when no model ranges are on file. Small series and home-built boats are just as insurable as production boats.
What details do you need instead?
The type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power or sail area and cruising range. The premium follows from this. The brand is left out in every case, as are the place of purchase and previous owners.
The cover that fits
For the whole class of boat
What matters for your boat depends less on the brand than on engine output, how a claim is settled and the waters you sail.
