Piranha; cover, cost and conditions
On inflatable boats the outboard is the part most likely to disappear. Under the name Piranha 16 ranges are recorded, throughout inflatable boats with an engine, with years of construction from 2008 to 2015. In the full hull cover, theft of parts including the outboard is covered.
Besides theft of parts, the full hull cover pays for collision, grounding and vandalism, the limited hull cover for fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage. There is no time window and no night clause in the hull cover.
Production ended in 2015, the boats keep going. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, and compensation follows the agreed value with no deduction for depreciation. The boat trailer is covered at no extra premium, and cover applies when launching, when craning and on the road.

Frequent questions
Is the engine on the inflatable boat covered as well?
In the full hull cover, theft of parts including the outboard is included. At the same time the engine output enters the premium, together with the type of boat, the value, the year of construction and the cruising range.
Does cover also apply at night at the jetty?
Yes, in the hull cover there is no time window and no night clause. In winter storage, when craning and when launching, cover likewise applies unchanged.

Licence
A powerboat licence (inland or coastal) is required from 15 hp (11.03 kW).
Registration

For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On an inflatable the cause decides, not the damage: a tear from impact is covered, porous fabric after years in the sun is not. The outboard belongs in the policy with its serial number.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
