Three model ranges are recorded for Schwartz, Achat, Ascan and Astron, all listed as sailing boats, with years of construction between 1970 and 1996. Boats from that period often change owner privately, and from that a dispute sometimes arises. Legal expenses cover for water sports covers disputes following the purchase of a used boat.

A dispute with a yard also falls under it, for example after a repair. Legal expenses cover is offered in addition to third-party liability, limited hull cover and full hull cover. Third-party liability itself ranges, depending on the tariff level, from 10 to 50 million euros limit of indemnity, selectable in Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium.

Since no years of construction after 1996 are recorded for the three ranges, this is about used boats. We insure irrespective of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, full hull cover works with an agreed value with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old") and in the Premium tariff with no age limit. Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards.

Yes, legal expenses cover for water sports covers disputes with a yard just as it covers a dispute following the purchase of a used boat. It supplements third-party liability, limited hull cover and full hull cover.

How is an Achat from the seventies valued?

By way of an agreed value that is agreed when the policy is taken out and that includes the equipment. In the event of a claim, compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old"), in the Premium tariff full hull cover applies with no age limit.
