Thundercraft; cover, cost and conditions
Thundercraft has eleven ranges, among them the Diablo 185, 205 and 230 motor boats, the Magnum 215 and the Express 240 to 350 motor yachts. The years of construction lie between 1990 and 2000. If you take over such a boat, you can replace the previous policy through the switching service.
NAMMERT cancels the existing contract free of charge, so that no gap arises. Insurance is provided regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, and in the Premium tariff full hull cover runs with no age limit, with an agreed value and with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
Between an open motor boat and an Express motor yacht there are differences in value and machinery. That is exactly what the premium comes from: type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power and cruising range count, the manufacturer's name does not. The trailer is included at no extra premium.

Frequent questions
How does switching from an existing policy work?
NAMMERT cancels the previous policy free of charge as part of the switching service. You provide the boat's details and the new cover follows on from it.
Is damage caused by vandalism covered?
Vandalism belongs to full hull cover, as do collision, grounding and theft of parts including the outboard. Fire, storm and lightning strike are already covered by limited hull cover.

Licence
A powerboat licence (inland or coastal) is required from 15 hp (11.03 kW).
Registration
Registration from 3 hp; for trips abroad carry the boat certificate or flag document.
Waters
Inland, coastal and abroad; plan fairways, bridge clearances, draught and tides.
Equipment
Lifesaving gear, fire extinguisher, anchor, signalling equipment and correct navigation lights.

For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
