Six motorboat ranges are on record, Shaft 550, 660 and 730, plus Brise-Lames, Ultra Open 405 and Mazuir, with years of construction from 1984 to 2003. Newer models are not recorded. A boat of this age generally changes owner via the second-hand market.

Disputes after such a purchase cannot always be avoided. Legal expenses cover for water sports is offered alongside and applies to disputes following the purchase of a used boat or with a shipyard. Independently of this, third-party liability and hull insurance cover damage to the boat and to third parties.

For full hull cover we agree an agreed value, in the Premium tariff with no age limit, and pay compensation with no deduction for depreciation (new for old). The premium results from type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power and cruising range, not from the name of the yard.

Frequent questions

When does legal expenses cover for water sports apply?

It applies to disputes after the purchase of a used boat or with a shipyard. It is offered together with third-party liability and hull insurance and can be included in the contract.

How is a boat from 1990 valued?

Through an agreed value that is set when the policy is taken out. In the event of a claim we pay compensation with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff with no age limit.

A powerboat licence (inland or coastal) is required from 15 hp (11.03 kW).

Registration

Registration from 3 hp; for trips abroad carry the boat certificate or flag document.
