Forty-three ranges are recorded, from the Viking 20 Start through the 26 WB and the 28 Seamaster to the 750 Sedan. The years of construction run from 2003 to the present, and motor boats and motor yachts are listed. With a programme of this breadth every boat is rated individually.
The cruising range is one of the factors that determine the premium. Inland waters and the coast are assessed differently, and type of boat, value, year of construction and engine output have an effect as well. For trips across the border you receive the international certificate of insurance automatically in ten languages.
Third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros forms the basis in the levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. The full hull cover adds collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard and settles on the agreed value with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).

Does it make a difference whether I cruise inland or on the coast?
Yes, the cruising range feeds into the premium, as do type of boat, value, year of construction and engine output. For trips abroad the certificate of insurance is available in ten languages.
Is a model from 2003 treated differently?
It is rated on its own data. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, and in the Premium rate the full hull cover applies with no age limit.

Licence
A powerboat licence (inland or coastal) is required from 15 hp (11.03 kW).
Registration

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
